SAGE2 - New Collaboration Capabilities at Decision Theater North

Tom Vrba and Pips Veazey testing SAGE2 functionality in DTN.

We have recently installed the SAGE2 platform onto our main Decision Theater system. SAGE2 (Scalable Amplified Group Environment) allows anyone in the Decision Theater to connect to the system through a web browser so you can remotely manipulate content on all of the screens from your own device.

Everybody who is in the room can be connected to the system at the same time from their own laptops and collaborate simultaneously on any content that is displayed on any of the seven screens.

Current SAGE capabilities include:

Pips sharing her screen through SAGE2

  • Projecting and sharing your device desktop onto the DTN screens

  • Displaying any web content through a SAGE2 integrated web browser

  • Creating live notes and drawings from your own device

  • Running a variety of applications that have been built into SAGE2, such as Google Maps

If you would like to give SAGE2 a try or use it for a project in the Decision Theater, let us know and we will be happy to show you how to set it up.

For more information on SAGE2, visit: http://sage2.sagecommons.org/project/introduction/

It is also possible to develop, upload and manage your own applications for SAGE2.

For more information on how to do that and what applications are currently running on the platform, visit: http://apps.sagecommons.org/
